Otto's Arcade & Club

7641 N. Ann Arbor Street. Saline, MI 48176

The Challenge

Otto’s Arcade and Social Club in Saline, MI, sought a sign that captured the vibrant spirit of its unique venue—a nostalgic fusion of classic arcade, living museum, social club, and event space. While the brand identity was established, the challenge was translating that personality into a compelling, physical sign that would serve as a visual anchor for the space. The client envisioned a vibrant, neon-style glow to reinforce the retro vibe. Adding a layer of storytelling, the brand also pays homage to the former Otto’s Cheese Shoppe that operated in the same building for decades, as well as a character from the classic arcade game Berzerk. The sign needed to reflect both this rich local history and the playful energy of arcade culture.

The Solution

Leveraging Otto’s existing logo and brand aesthetics, our team collaborated closely with the client to design a custom dimensional wall sign that balanced retro charm with a modern edge. To achieve the desired neon-like effect, we used high-efficiency LED faux neon from Principle Sloan—a flexible and visually striking solution that offers the look of neon with a clean, contemporary finish.

The sign also features dynamic custom “twinkling” LED modules that pulse randomly and independently, adding a playful sense of motion reminiscent of vintage arcades. The final design was the product of a collaborative process, blending the client’s vision with our team’s creative and technical expertise.

The Result

The final installation is a striking showpiece that embodies the energy and character of Otto’s Arcade. It not only fulfilled the client’s vision but also brought a bold, luminous identity to the space. As the owner described it, the sign is “a showpiece that represents the spirit of the facility—something to be proud of.” This project was a rewarding creative collaboration for our team.
