Signs of the City: Dexter, MI
Each month, we’re highlighting the commercial signs we’ve designed, installed, and serviced in communities across Michigan. It’s our way of spotlighting the businesses we work with and showcasing the quality, detail, and service that goes into every sign we touch.
This month’s Signs of the City is especially close to our hearts because one of our owners proudly calls Dexter home. We’ve worked in communities across Michigan, but there’s something special about helping businesses thrive right in your own backyard.
Dexter may be a small town, but it has no shortage of character; from its charming downtown and riverwalk to its growing small business community and tight-knit local pride. Whether you’re grabbing coffee at Joe and Rosie’s or heading to a Dreadnaughts game, it’s the kind of place where people know your name and your sign matters.
That’s why we’re proud to feature some of the sign projects we’ve completed in Dexter over the past couple years.

Featured Projects in Dexter, MI
1. Haley Mechanical – Refurbished Monument Sign
Dexter Chelsea Rd. Dexter, MI
Haley Mechanical refreshed their brand and we helped bring that update to life at street level. Their existing monument sign had solid bones, so instead of a full replacement, we refurbished the structure with new custom faces and a fresh coat of paint to match their updated branding.
The result is a clean, professional sign that reflects the company’s current identity while maintaining the structure’s integrity. It’s a great example of how a strategic refresh can extend a sign’s life and visual impact without the cost of a full rebuild.

2. Highland Spirits – Custom Blade Sign, Vinyl Graphics & Wayfinding Package
Downtown Dexter + Warehouse Facility
Highland Spirits brought their craft and creativity to downtown Dexter with a beautiful new tasting room and we helped complete the experience with signage that reflects their bold, refined brand.
For their downtown location, we designed and installed a custom projecting blade sign to catch the eye of foot traffic, along with vinyl graphics on the windows that add character and communicate their offerings with subtle sophistication.
Beyond the tasting room, we also supported their operational side with a wall-mounted sign and directional signage at their warehouse facility making it easier for visitors, partners, and deliveries to find their way with clean, professional branding.

3. Busch’s– Wall Letters and Monument Sign Refurbishment
Dexter-Ann Arbor Rd. Dexter, MI
For many Dexter residents, Busch’s isn’t just a grocery store, it’s part of their weekly rhythm, a familiar stop woven into everyday life. So when it came time to refresh their signage, we approached the project with the same care and pride the community has for this local favorite.
We restored the wall letters to bring back their clean, welcoming presence and revitalized the monument sign so it stands out once again as a true neighborhood marker. The goal wasn’t to change what people already love, but to help it shine a little brighter.
The result is a refreshed, faithful update that keeps Busch’s looking like the Dexter staple it’s always been, ready to greet residents for years to come.

4. HF Software Solutions – Wall Letters and Tenant Panel
Baker Rd. Dexter, MI
Every growing business reaches a moment when it’s time to make its presence known and for HF Software Solutions, that moment came with their move into a new space. We helped them mark the milestone by creating wall letters and a clean, modern tenant panel that introduces their brand with confidence.
The wall letters were designed to reflect their brand while also blending seamlessly with the building, creating a cohesive, professional presence from the street. Paired with the updated tenant panel, the signage ensures visitors can easily find and recognize their office.
It’s a small but meaningful transformation that signals who they are and where they’re headed.

5. A&W – Pylon Sign Refurbishment
Dexter Chelsea Rd. Dexter, MI
A&W is a popular spot in Dexter, and their pylon sign has been a familiar landmark for years. The structure was still in solid shape, so instead of a full replacement, we gave it a strategic refresh; installing new pan-formed faces, applying a fresh coat of paint, and completing an energy-efficient LED retrofit to brighten its presence.
The result is a cleaner, more vibrant sign that stays true to A&W’s classic look while enhancing visibility and extending the life of the existing structure. It’s a great example of how thoughtful updates can bring new life to a well-known community sign without the cost of a total rebuild.

Local Work, Local Pride
Whether it’s a new install, a long-overdue repair, or a full branding refresh, we love partnering with Dexter businesses that care about how they show up in the community. This month, we’re proud to highlight a few projects that helped local businesses shine a little brighter.
And the work doesn’t stop there; we’ve also completed wall signs and vinyl graphics for Trinity Health, refreshed the monument sign for Magdich Law, and supported many other Dexter businesses with installs, repairs, and updates, just to name a few. These projects reflect our ongoing commitment to helping Dexter’s businesses show up, stand out, and stay connected to the community.
