Born into the sign business started by his Father in 1964, Jay Johnson has dedicated himself to preserving and building upon those traditions. Jay's formal education was from Ferris State University where he achieved a Bachelors degree in business while contributing to the success of the wrestling program.

After college, Jay moved west and took a position with a large California based sign company specializing in corporate image accounts. 1983 brought Jay to the pinnacle of that company when he achieved the top sales award for the year. The traveling and family considerations brought Jay back to Michigan where he took over the reigns of Johnson Sign Company and purchased the majority interest in the company in 1988.

Now, as President of the company, Jay continues to enhance the growth of the business by developing and implementing the latest technological advancements of the sign industry. His vision and goals have positioned Johnson Sign Company as the premier custom sign company in the State of Michigan.

Jay maintains an active personal life with his wife, Jody, and their four children, Katie, Sara, Jimmy, and Willy. His commitment to the children extends to his involvement in various athletic coaching duties. The whole family is very active in their church, Grace Church of Jackson, and Jackson Christian Schools.
